That lyricist Vaali is liked and appreciated by all in K-town was once again proven on Saturday, when famous Kollywood celebrities attended the launch of Vaali 1000, a collection of thousand movie songs written by him. The evening also marked the 80th birthday celebration of Vaali.
Talking on the event, Kamal Haasan reminisced the time when he requested Vaali to revise the lyrics of Unna Nenechen. Kamal Haasan said that Vaali was upset and didn’t converse to him for a few days. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (who calls herself an ardent Rajnikanth-fan and will soon be seen in Robot with him) attended the engagement that was held on Thursday evening but couldn’t make it to the wedding. The reception was held late on Friday evening. Last year, Chief Minister Karunanidhi felicitated both Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth with the Tamil Nadu Government’s Best Actor award and there have been reports that the two stalwarts may be seen in Mani Ratnam’s next. Let’s hope they had ample time to discuss the possibilities, if any. But for now, let’s wish the newly weds a happy future together.

The paper said on Saturday evening more than 100 hardcore fans, aged 14 to 60, many on their knees, climbed the steps of the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy place of worship in Sholingur, about 120km from Chennai.
The fans took more than three hours to go up the 1,305 steps most important to the main temple and to perform special poojas for the success of the film. The much-awaited science fiction movie co-written and directed by S. Shankar, also skin movie queen Aishwarya Rai. Both are giving a superb performance in this movie.
